What the pricing tool can express
Pricing rules are evaluated by a pure deterministic engine · same inputs always produce the same quote. Every quote is hashed and audited against the DSL version that produced it, so you can replay any historical quote and see exactly how the price was reached.
- Base rate · Per-window or per-job baseline. Set in pence to avoid float drift; displayed in £ with sane rounding for the customer.

FAQs
What is a pricing DSL?
A small, expressive way to describe your price book · base rate, surcharges, multipliers, add-ons, exclusions, caps. Editable in a visual form at /dashboard/settings, stored as immutable versions in the database.
Why versioned?
If a customer disputes a quote six months later, you can replay it against the exact pricing version that produced it. Every quote stores the version hash plus the input facts.
Can I A/B test pricing?
On Scale and Fleet, yes · multiple versions can be active in parallel and routed by customer segment or landing page.
Does the customer see the breakdown?
Operator-configurable. Default: customer sees the final £ price only. Toggle on the breakdown if you want to show the maths (some operators prefer this for trust).
What if I want to override the engine for a specific job?
Manual quote override sits in /dashboard/leads. Override creates a new lead row with the override reason logged · engine quote and override are both preserved.
Can I import my existing price list?
Yes · paste your current rates into the visual form and the engine builds the DSL. Most operators are configured in under 20 minutes.
What about VAT?
DSL operates in pence. VAT is applied on the displayed price per operator config (default: prices shown exc. VAT for B2B, inc. VAT for B2C).
